Sustainable hotel

We are a modern family hotel located in the center of Prague with an eco-friendly approach inspired by sustainability and responsibility towards nature.

We strive to minimize our carbon footprint, which we do by implementing a number of sustainable measures, such as eliminating single-use hotel amenities and plastics, disposing of and sorting waste, reducing the amount of waste, prioritizing environmentally friendly cleaning products that are non-toxic and biodegradable, and reducing energy and water consumption. We use ecological methods for heating the building as well as energy-efficient lighting. We place the same emphasis on the meaningful and efficient use of electricity.

We try not to waste unnecessarily in all segments of our profession. We take care of our footprint by purchasing products that are made in the Czech Republic to avoid excessive carbon emissions due to unnecessary transportation of food from one part of the world to another.

We create buffet breakfasts mainly from regional foods and emphasize our own homemade production and baking over semi-finished products.

Our bees also contribute to a better environment. We keep them on the roof of the building, and they are an integral part of the harmonious ecosystem of plants and animals. Moreover, thanks to the diversity of plants and trees without sprays and dangerous fertilizers, this honey is among the highest quality.

We are proud to be part of this unique project, which supports sustainable development and brings nature closer to our guests. We are driven by a constant desire to improve and move our hotel forward while being environmentally friendly.

WHY DO WE KEEP BEES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CITY?

In the very heart of Prague, hidden high above the bustling streets, lies something quite unexpected — an ecological bee farm right on the roof of our hotel.

Did you know that urban environments can actually be more favorable for bees than the countryside? Prague’s parks, gardens, and terraces offer a rich palette of flowers and plants without pesticides, providing our bees with a diverse food source throughout the year and guaranteeing that the bees are not burdened by field sprays, which have a direct impact not only on their health but also on the quality of the honey. Our bees have access to flowers in all corners of the historical center, and their honey thus acquires a unique taste that is a blend of Prague’s parks and gardens.

Beekeeping for us is not just about obtaining honey, but also about protecting the environment. Bees are key to plant pollination, contributing to biodiversity even in urban environments. Every jar of honey you taste with us is the result of the work of our diligent bees and is proof that nature can flourish even in the middle of a big city.

Our hotel is committed to sustainability, which is why we use bee products directly in our kitchen. Guests can taste our homemade honey at breakfast.
